2022 Ultimate Sleeper: Trey Sermon
After getting phased out in San Fransisco, the tough running Sermon joins a crowded Philadelphia backfield. But, injuries seem to always strike this team at the position, and with one of the league’s better lines, a player like Sermon could emerge as a late-season scoring machine. Keep an eye on him early.
Top undrafted free agents going into week 1 that are set for breakout season:
Isaiah Likely – Baltimore Ravens/TE – Likely scored a lot of touchdowns out of the slot at Coastal Carolina last season, and with a dearth of wide receivers not named Rashod Bateman, the Ravens will find creative ways to get Likely involved. Behind Mark Andrews and Bateman, this fourth-round rookie could emerge as a favorite for Lamar Jackson, and has the ability to put up multiple games with multiple scores.
KJ Hamler – Denver Broncos/WR – Russell Wilson loves his slot players, and he excels at throwing deep shots. Especially with the absence of Tim Patrick, Hamler’s skill set lines up with what Wilson favors in his receivers, and the two could form chemistry right in time for the fantasy football playoffs.
Davis Mills – Houston Texans/QB – Davis Mills produced four top-10 performances last season, and with an improved offensive line, better running backs, and a quarterback whisperer like Pep Hamilton in his ear, Mills is set up to have a strong fantasy season. Brandin Cooks, who regularly posts top-20 performances in fantasy, gives Mills a reliable weapon. Plus, the Texans should be more competitive in 2022, which means more points.
