NFL free agency has slowed down, and draft boards are being re-arranged accordingly. It’s time for another mock.
1. Tennessee Titans – QB Cam Ward – Miami
After passing on several of the top free-agent quarterbacks, the Titans have all but tipped their hand that Cam Ward is their top choice in this year’s class. Ward made some bone-headed decisions at Miami in 2024, but he also made magic happen and helped keep the Hurricanes in games that they should not have been in. His upside makes him a worthy gamble as the top pick in the draft.
2. Cleveland Browns – EDGE Abdul Carter – Penn State
Yes, the Browns just extended Myles Garrett after a short stand-off with their star pass rusher. But the Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccanneers are examples of recent Super Bowl-winning teams who had a deep stable of pass rushers. Adding Carter alongside Garrett would at least ensure a few years of quality play from one of the most important position groups in the sport.
3. New York Giants – QB Shedeur Sanders – Colorado
Assuming they miss out on Aaron Rodgers, the Giants pivot to the draft to find their quarterback. Sanders is not as dynamic as Ward, but he showed at Jackson State and Colorado that he can carve up defenses and play point guard. The Giants have enough weapons to help support Sanders and boost his chances of being their guy going forward.
4. New England Patriots – CB/WR Travis Hunter – Colorado
The temptation to take a top tackle is strong in New England, but by adding a rare talent like Hunter, the Patriots can get closer to turning around their defense. Both Carlton Davis and Marcus Jones have battled injuries throughout their careers, leading to an easy and early path for Hunter to play a lot of snaps in New England. All of a sudden, this Patriots secondary looks fierce.
5. Jacksonville Jaguars – OT Will Campbell – LSU
Even if Campbell begins his NFL career as a guard, Liam Coen saw firsthand how having a strong offensive line can elevate a quarterback and give him time to dissect defenses. Campbell was one of the top offensive linemen in the country in 2024; Jacksonville will figure out a way to maximize his skill set right away.
6. Las Vegas Raiders – DT Mason Graham – Michigan
Pete Carroll’s wishes come true. Selecting Graham would help turn the Raiders’ defensive line into their top strength. Carroll won a lot of games in Seattle with a dominant front seven, and he’ll have time to find the right pieces to add to an overhauled secondary. Graham’s game is about as well-rounded as any prospect in this class.
7. New York Jets – TE Tyler Warren – Penn State
The Jets made the practical choice last year by selecting Olu Fashanu over Brock Bowers, but if they could go back and do it again, odds are they’d want Bowers. While Warren is a different style of player, his impact as a rookie could emulate what Bowers did in 2024. As a former quarterback, Warren did just about everything for Penn State last season and was often their only legitimate passing threat. He would make life a lot easier for Justin Fields in New York.
8. San Francisco 49ers – Trade w/ Carolina Panthers – OT Armand Membou – Missouri
The San Francisco 49ers are taking a page out of the Los Angeles Rams’ book this off-season by shedding veterans and replacing expensive talent. Like the Rams in the 2024 NFL Draft, the 49ers own 11 draft picks, giving them the necessary ammunition to move around on day one of the draft. When they see Membou falling, San Francisco pounces by giving the Panthers one of their later round picks to move up three slots.
9. New Orleans Saints – WR Tetairoa McMillan – Arizona
Even outside of the new questions about Chris Olave’s health, the Saints badly need weapons if they expect to compete in a winnable NFC South. McMillan was highly productive at Arizona and has a phenomenal catch-radius. He could become an impact player right away in Kellen Moore’s new offense.
10. Chicago Bears – EDGE Mykel Williams – Georgia
Still raw as a prospect, Williams has flashed, from dominating the 2022 All-American Bowl week to terrorizing a stacked Texas offensive line in 2024. Williams’ ceiling is what makes him such an enticing prospect, given his combination of power, length, and closing speed. Chicago might not see their return on this pick right away, but he has a chance to be a difference-maker.
11. Carolina Panthers – Trade w/ San Francisco 49ers – CB Will Johnson – Michigan
After locking up Jaycee Horn and beefing their defensive front in free agency, Carolina looks to bolster their secondary with one of the top defensive players in Johnson. A true lockdown corner, Johnson has exceptional ball skills and plays sticky coverage. He and Horn could become one of the top ascending cornerback tandems in the NFL.
12. Dallas Cowboys – DB Jahdae Barron – Texas
Starting cornerback Trevon Diggs underwent knee surgery in January, and Daron Bland missed a large part of the 2024 season due to injury, raising questions about a position that was once considered a strength in Dallas. Barron would give the Cowboys a defender who can occupy several positions in the secondary, and his Combine performance should bump him up draft boards.
13. Miami Dolphins – EDGE Jalon Walker – Georgia
The Dolphins tend to prefer edge rushers with bend and explosiveness. Both of their recent first-round picks, Chop Robinson and Jaelan Phillips possessed similar traits to Walker as college prospects. Phillips hasn’t been able to stay healthy, opening the door for Walker to carve out a role early for Miami. He’s got tremendous upside but might need time to round out his game.
14. Indianapolis Colts – DT Walter Nolen – Ole Miss
The Colts have two behemoths at defensive tackle in Grover Stewart and DeForest Buckner, but Stewart could be a free agent as early as 2026. Nolen tapped into his immense potential in his final collegiate season and could become a valuable rotational player before assuming a full-time role at defensive tackle for Indy.
15. Atlanta Falcons – EDGE Shemar Stewart – Texas A&M
After lighting up the NFL Combine, Stewart should be rising up draft boards around the league. His production at A&M doesn’t match the tape, but the Falcons have proven they’re willing to take a chance on a player’s athleticism and bank on their development. Stewart would have a chance to start early and could become a very productive player at the next level.
16. Arizona Cardinals – LB Jihaad Campbell – Alabama
The Cardinals’ defensive scheme allows them to move players around and mix up pressure packages with their different personnel. Campbell would fit nicely here, as he has the tools to either play as an inside linebacker or rush the passer on the edge. Jonathan Gannon is the sort of coach that could get the most out of his talents.
17. Houston Texans – Trade w/ Cincinnati Bengals – G Tyler Booker – Alabama
The Texans enter the 2025 NFL Draft with four selections in the top 89 picks. After trading away two of their starting offensive linemen, the organization needs to retool a unit that was one of their weak spots in 2024. Booker comes from an Alabama program that has churned out NFL prospects over the years and he has the potential to be a long-time starter in the league.
18. Denver Broncos – Trade W/ Seattle Seahawks – RB Ashton Jeanty – Boise State
The Broncos pay a small price to get a guy who could help transform their offense. Jeanty’s ability to bounce off tacklers and reach a second gear should make him coveted come draft season, but the running back class is deep enough for teams to prioritize other positions in the top 20.
19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – EDGE Mike Green – Marshall
The Buccaneers dipped into free agency for pass-rush help, but need a long-term solution after letting Joe Tryon-Shoyinka walk. Adding Green would give them juice off the edge opposite Haason Reddick. He might be undersized, but Green’s production at Marshall is hard to ignore.
20. Seattle Seahawks – Trade W/ Denver Broncos – WR Matthew Golden – Texas
Despite what it might seem like on the outside, Seattle is not rebuilding; they’re reloading. However, it’s no sure thing that Cooper Kupp and Marquez Valdes-Scantling can be dependable starters for a whole season. After lighting up the NFL Combine, Golden’s draft stock is on the rise. He was a big-play guy at Texas and could become a dangerous deep threat for the Seahawks in Klint Kubiak’s new offense.
21. Pittsburgh Steelers – RB Omarion Hampton – North Carolina
Hampton just feels like a Pittsburgh Steeler. He’s rugged, runs through tacklers, and can contribute in the passing game. With Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell being more change-of-pace backs, Hampton can carve out a big role right away as a rookie.
22. Los Angeles Chargers – TE Colston Loveland – Michigan
Whether or not the Chargers have to trade up to get a player like Loveland, a dynamic tight end should be firmly on their radar in the first round. As a receiving threat who can also hold his own as a blocker, Loveland is the complete package at tight end. His ties to Jim Harbaugh make this an easy connection.
23. Green Bay Packers – DT Kenneth Grant – Michigan
Green Bay needs to bolster its interior line. Devonte Wyatt has not been the sort of player they hoped he would be and has struggled defending the run. The team can also move on from Kenny Clark’s contract after the season, leaving the door open for a player like Grant to get eased into the rotation as a rookie. Grant flashed at Michigan and can become a solid starter in the right system.
24. Minnesota Vikings – S Nick Emmanwori – South Carolina
Brian Flores has proven he can make do with lesser talent in the secondary, but adding a physical freak like Emmanwori could help this defense continue its ascension. Emmanwori did a little bit of everything at South Carolina and could flourish under a brilliant coordinator like Flores.
25. Cincinnati Bengals – Trade w/ Houston Texans – S Malaki Starks – Georgia
Cincinnati has repeatedly poured resources into their defense in the early rounds of the draft but has yet to hit on a difference-maker. But with the extensions of Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase, the organization has to hope they can land a few impact players to help bolster a defense that was downright bad at times last season. Starks gives Al Golden a cerebral safety who can occupy various positions in the secondary and eventually take over for Geno Stone.
26. Los Angeles Rams – OT Josh Simmons – Ohio State
The Rams offense is at peak form when Matthew Stafford is playing with a clean pocket and Kyren Williams has room to run. With Rob Havenstein set to hit free agency next season, the Rams add insurance to the offensive line by selecting Simmons, who is coming off a torn patellar tendon but has some of the highest upside of any lineman in this draft. The hope for LA would be for Simmons to sit and eventually take over at right tackle.
27. Baltimore Ravens – DT Derrick Harmon – Oregon
Nearly 20 years ago, the Ravens struck gold by drafting a behemoth defensive tackle out of Oregon by the name of Holati Ngata. While Harmon’s tape isn’t flawless, he has a similar build as Ngata and displayed pure dominance at times for Oregon. For an organization that values its depth on defense, Harmon would fit nicely in Baltimore.
28. Detroit Lions – EDGE Nic Scourton – Texas A&M
A highly productive player at the college level, Scourton has the finesse and physical tools to become a quality starter in the NFL. He’s powerful at the point of attack and has a variety of different pass rush moves. The Lions need answers long-term at the position, and they could ease Scourton into the lineup before relying on him as a full-time starter.
29. Washington Commanders – OL Grey Zabel – North Dakota State
If the 2025 Washington Commanders can take anything from the 2024 Houston Texans, it’s that an ascending young quarterback needs quality offensive line play. The organization traded for Laremy Tunsil, but they could stand to add depth behind a few of their starters. Zabel has position versatility and would help fortify an important position group.
30. Buffalo Bills – WR Emeka Egbuka – Ohio State
The value is too good for Buffalo to pass up here. Josh Palmer is a fine complimentary piece, but Ebguka would be an upgrade at receiver and help lift the floor of this Bills offense. With Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman locked in for the foreseeable future, Egbuka could become a reliable weapon for Josh Allen on the perimeter or in the slot.
31. Kansas City Chiefs – OL Kelvin Banks – Texas
The Chiefs’ embarrassing loss in Super Bowl LIX serves as a reminder of how important a strong offensive line is for a title contender. Kansas City went into the off-season with this unit being a top priority, so when they see Banks slide, the choice becomes obvious. His illustrious career at Texas ended with a somewhat disappointing season in 2024, but Banks has all the tools to be a solid starter at the next level.
32. Cleveland Browns – Trade w/ Philadelphia Eagles – QB Jaxon Dart – Ole MIss
The Kenny Pickett trade was an indication that Cleveland is not expecting to land Cam Ward and suggests that they might not love Shedeur Sanders enough to pick him second overall. While there’s reasonable concern about Dart’s ability to transition to a pro-style offense, his arm talent is undeniable. Dart had enough flashes at Ole Miss for a team like the Browns to roll the dice on him at the end of the first round.
